Thanks for listening on Live365

I’m so happy for all the listeners who found the music I played on Live365, all those who pressed the Add-to-My-Favorites button, all those who sent email messages from all over the world, and for everyone whose life has increased in joy to the sounds of this great traditional music.

In the 60s, I would pull LP after LP out of a cabinet and play spontaneously-programmed tracks for my friends. This drive to share great music is why I pay to play it for you. It is an act of love and sharing.

Since its inception on Live365, Jean’s Rambles radio has enjoyed listening hours that total to 11 years of folks hearing this heritage of traditional music. Thank you.

Live365 *is* shutting down

Folks, I’m sorry to say that Live365 is shutting down after January 31. The message to broadcasters is at the bottom of this post.

I am converting the music I play to a new streaming service and arranging for royalty payments, so you won’t miss a jig, reel, or song by transitioning with me to my new webcasting site. I’ll place the Play button right here on near the end of the month.

Life is change.

Dear Live365 Broadcasters,

You should have already received our notification and link to the press release regarding two issues that have affected Live365 in the last few weeks.

1. The CRB ruling handed down in December, 2015 did NOT renew or address the expiration of the small webcaster percentage of revenue plans. At this time there is no small webcaster options except for full CRB rates.

2. Live365’s long time investors have stopped funding us. As a result, we are no longer able to sustain our service.

We are sad that we are closing our doors at the end of this month. There are always possibilities that we can come back in one form or another, but at this point in time, January 31, 2016 is the last day that Live365’s streaming servers and website will be maintained and supported.

This is a surprise to us as it is to all of you. We are proud that Live365 was a pioneer in the streaming music business and have provided a platform to hundreds of thousands of broadcasters to have a voice over the years.

Unfortunately, we have to say good bye.

Live365 may be shutting down

I’m sorry to say that has experienced two blows: their investors have pulled out and the amount of royalties they pay for the music we play is about to rise so steeply that few small streaming services will be able to meet the new costs.

I am searching for a new broadcast host for this great traditional music. If I am successful, then little will change for you, the listener. It means more than I can say that you continue to have your days filled with these amazing songs and tunes. Please check back often to follow my progress.

Yours in awe of this heart-filling music,

Holiday music on its way

I’m uploading some fine traditional holiday music which I’ll keep live until December 26 / Boxing Day. I figure that about one in every seven tracks will be holiday-themed during this time. I hope you enjoy the great music.

Some new music, some new download links, and a new look.

Holiday Playlist Is Live

The holiday playlist is up and running through about January 2 December 30. I hope you enjoy the music.

Happy holidays, everyone!
